On January 13, 2023, Mary Cecilia McGarvey (nee Berger), beloved wife of the late James Lester McGarvey, went home to be with her Savior. She is survived by her children James L. McGarvey Jr. (Holly), Kevin S. McGarvey, Michael J. McGarvey, Colleen M. Koerner, Sean M. McGarvey, and Teri Cohen (Martin); sister-in-law Gina Berger; brother John Berger (Lynn Piwowarski); and by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.

She joins in eternal life, her parents Charles & May Berger, siblings Edna Singer, Charles D. Berger, Jr., William Berger, and Claire Remesch, grandson Patrick J. Cunningham, and son-in-law Timothy Koerner.

The family will receive friends at the family-owned Ruck Towson Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 York Rd., Towson, MD 21204 on Thursday, January 19th from 5-8 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at The Immaculate Conception Church, 200 Ware Ave., Towson, MD 21204 on Friday, January 20th at 10 AM. Inurnment Private.

So sorry to advise you that our dear Sister in Carmel, Mary McGarvey, has passed. Her Son, Sean advised that Mary passed yesterday afternoon. He will keep us posted on funeral details. I will share the obituary as soon as it is available.
Mary has been part of Carmel since our beginnings and has been a shining light to many and will be greatly missed. She now will be joined with our other Carmelite brothers and sisters in the heavenly court.
